Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar has directed the officials concerned to keep running the works to launch Bangladesh’s second satellite Bangabandhu-2 into orbit within the stipulated time.
He also gave a reminder to the officials of Bangladesh Communication Satellite Company Limited (BCSCL) at a review meeting of the company at its office, saying that “We have no other way to go beyond the deadline set by the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to launch the Bangabanhdu-2 within 2023”.
Emphasizing on taking the challenge as ardent necessity, the minister urged all the officials concerned to work on it with upmost sincerity, said a ministry press release last night.
He, however, opined before moving to other works fixing the type of Bangabandhu-2 is needed immediately.
In the meeting, future operation and commercial plan of county’s first communication satellite Bangabandhu-1 was discussed.
Posts and Telecommunications Division Secretary Ashoke Kumar Biswas, BCSCL Chairman Dr Shahjahan Mahmood, PSC Member Uzzal Bikash Dutta, University Grants Commission Member Professor Dr Md Sazzad Hossain, Bangladesh Post Office Director General Shudhangshu Shekhar Bhadra, BTCL Managing Director Rafiqul Matin and officials concerned were present.
